The Epic Shoe Organization Project Illustrated How-To

What happens when you look in your shoe closet and you see this? Which shoes are which? What ever happened to that pair of sparkly shoes I had? WHERE ARE THEY!? The problem is when you have too many pairs of shoes by the same designer, and you have no idea which pair is which if you keep them in their original boxes like I do. I’ve finally come to the conclusion that I have too many pairs of shoes and I need to organize a lot better. This is the start of the “lets-organize-5-million-pairs-of-shoes” project.

Step 1: Take a picture of your shoes and print it out on 4×6 photo paper. You can use any size you want really, through some trial and error I think a smaller size would’ve been better but I have about 500 4×6 photo paper on hand thanks to a woot.com sale… so might as well use them.

Step 2: Obtain some UPS shipping sleeves, I get them from my office supply room, shhh don’t tell. Cut your picture to size and insert into UPS shipping sleeve. Don’t worry, the UPS logo is under the plastic so it will be covered by the photo. I love using these because they are self adhesive, you don’t see the logo at all, and they are free!

Step 3: Cut the shipping sleeve to size. Leave about 1/2 inch clearance on the cut side so you can fold it over to keep the picture in place. I even use the cut off half to put another picture in. Yes I realize the irony.

Step 4: Attach picture to shoe box, you probably want to take the shoes out just in case, these are pretty sticky and you don’t want to make too many mistakes with adhesives. Some shoe boxes are oddly shaped so you might have to really hack away at the photo.

Step 5: Voila you are done! Line the boxes up and take a picture in celebration. Upload your shoe pictures to the interwebs and show off your shoes.

Ann Taylor Loft Ruffles Explosion

Normally I would not be blogging about Ann Taylor Loft, I mean there’s nice stuff there, but I don’t go into the store, I’m not old enough to shop there yet. But this season Ann Taylor has some amazing ruffle shirts that’s very reminiscent of J Crew. With their recent 30% off sale, I picked up 2 Petal Tees in Majestic Plum and Lake Blue, a Ruffle Blouse in White, a Chiffon Rosette Trim Tee in black, and finally a Rosette Scoopneck Top all for $120. On top of this, they gave me 2 $25 off $50 coupons for September. Are they trying to give stuff away, because with these designs, I will take them!
