Como Zoo in St Paul MN

Saturday we took a trip to the como zoo with Troy and Erika and their little baby Siri. We saw lions, and tigers, but no bears because his enclosure is under construction, oh my.
The place was PACKED, parking was ridiculous but the weather was cool enough and we were in great company, so it was a nice experience all around.
I even braved the enclosure full of “butterflies” aka nasty bugs with pretty wings to bring you these pictures. I didn’t enjoy creepy flappy bugs all around me, but I did enjoy playing with my camera and getting some good shots.

The giraffes was the most entertaining besides the monkeys, I kept trying to get a good shot of him sticking his nasty blue tongue out, and out of 10 pictures I got one! I need Ronnie’s awesome DSLR camera. :( I especially enjoy the first giraffe picture, he’s giving you such a disapproving look. The lion is also one of my favorites, he is just relaxing with his head on a tire, reminds me of my dogs.

The polar bear exhibit will be finished in 2010, I’m very glad he’s getting a (hopefully better) new enclosure because he would always swim around the old pool in the same pattern every time you visited, it was very sad.
And some people will tell you there are wolves at the como zoo, but every time I’ve visited, they are not out. I think it’s an elaborate lie, there is no cake. To get my wolf fix, I go to the Minnesota zoo, they have some magestic beautiful wolves there.
